Equal Opportunity Committee Content

As part of a unified government work system that aims to advance Bahraini women through equal opportunity committees, the Institute of Public Administration works to adapt its strategies, plans, and initiatives to make optimal use of women’s capabilities. Empowering Bahraini women is a core priority for the Institute in making women essential partners in administrative development, change makers, and drivers of progress within the government work system.

The Institute also ensures that the Equal Opportunity Committee’s initiatives support its vision of “advanced government performance for sustainable development.” The committee contributes to strengthening equal opportunities among employees in recruitment, training, promotion, and all related fields, while ensuring that the needs of working women are considered.

As part of the committee’s operational plan, the Institute has embedded concepts related to integrating women’s needs and equal opportunity principles into leadership programs. It has also prepared an integrated proposal for a program to build national capabilities specialized in integrating women’s needs, expanded awareness of equal opportunity principles within the Institute, and established communication mechanisms with female employees to follow up on improvements to women’s status and the work environment.

Committee Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the application of regulations and standards and provide consultations in coordination with the Supreme Council for Women and the Civil Service Bureau.
  • Promote equal opportunities among Institute employees in recruitment, training, scholarships, and career promotion, while ensuring that the needs of working women are considered.
  • Integrate women’s needs within equal opportunity frameworks into government policies, plans, and budgets.
  • Build the capabilities of government employees in integrating women’s needs within the framework of equal opportunities.
  • Improve the status of women and their work environment at the Institute, and overcome obstacles that affect the application of equal opportunity principles in government entities.
  • Support the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women and promote its work in equal opportunities and the integration of women’s needs, in line with the approved National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.
  • Achieve equal opportunity principles for all beneficiaries of the Institute’s services.
  • Study all matters referred to the committee by the Director General or an authorized delegate.
