Distinguished Performance and Ambition

The New Employees Program in the Public Sector “Benaa” is the first starting point for new government employees within the leadership program ladder of the National Leadership Development Program at the Institute of Public Administration. It represents the foundation for building an employee who understands their role within the public sector work system through leadership thinking, Bahraini values, and the spirit of Team Bahrain. The program aims to introduce new employees to their job responsibilities by enabling them with the basic rules and principles of work, in addition to understanding their rights and commitment to their duties.

Nomination Requirements

  • At least one year of work experience, as determined by the competent authority.

Graduation Requirements

  • Attend at least 80% of the total classroom training.
  • Pass assignments and tasks required by the program with a score of at least 60%.

Program Language

  • Arabic language.

Duration

  • Program duration: 11 training days, equivalent to 50 learning hours.
  • Program timing: from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Program Cost

  • BHD 305.

Assessment Methods

The assessment methods in the program are as follows:

  • Presenting a group initiative that addresses an administrative challenge.
  • Personal evaluation of participants to identify outstanding participants in the program.

Program Content

The program consists of the following modules:

  • Leader: This module provides participants with concepts and theories in leadership and self-awareness, along with key approaches for institutional success that emerging leaders should develop. Participants will also learn essential tools and methods to shape their leadership identity, define their vision and direction, and explore leadership practices in the public sector locally and internationally.
  • Institution: This module provides participants with foundational knowledge of the institutional work system, including strategic institutional objectives, sustainable development goals, the Government Program, Supreme Council for Women strategies for gender balance, and fiscal balance. It supports participants in understanding their role in achieving their institution's strategic objectives and strengthening institutional belonging and loyalty. Participants will also learn tools that help them plan and execute tasks and initiatives with excellence and efficiency.
  • Customers and Partners: This module introduces participants to concepts and theories in customer and partner service, and the importance of their role in delivering excellent services that build trust and a positive image of government services. Participants will gain skills to provide services professionally, use the government services guide according to Bahraini identity standards, and propose development initiatives that improve services through artificial intelligence.
  • Teams: This module provides specialized knowledge on the fundamentals of teamwork and the importance of working according to the Team Bahrain principle to achieve institutional results and aspirations. Participants will develop skills to lead teams effectively, use team capabilities through effective communication, apply participatory decision-making skills, adapt to challenges and changes, and plan and prioritize work to achieve objectives and results.
  • Performance and Innovation: This module introduces participants to concepts and theories in creative thinking and the role of creativity in developing solutions that support continuous improvement in personal and institutional performance. Participants will learn thinking methods and tools that enable them to propose creative ideas, create solutions that support personal and institutional change, and strengthen analytical and critical thinking during decision-making.
  • Communication and Influence: This module provides participants with core knowledge in presentations, the qualities of an effective speaker, and their importance in personal and institutional positioning for leaders. Participants will learn smart tools and applications for preparing integrated presentations, core presentation skills, and influence and persuasion skills. They will also develop their ability to answer questions and participate in discussions professionally.
