Competitive Strategic Thinking

The Executive Leaders Preparation Program “Qeyadat” is the fifth step in the leadership program ladder within the National Leadership Development Program at the Institute of Public Administration. The program seeks to develop a leader with strategic and investment-oriented thinking, the ability to shape policies, and the capability to achieve a competitive level of institutional performance.

Program Language

  • Arabic language.

Graduation Requirements

  • Attend at least 80% of the total classroom training hours.
  • Pass the assessment with a score of at least 60%.

Duration

  • 20 training days, equivalent to 80 learning hours.

Program Timing

  • From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, except for some days that require practical applications within the scope of the project work.

Program Details

The program consists of the following modules:

  • Leader: This module provides participants with advanced concepts in agile leadership, enabling them to lead with a comprehensive strategic outlook in line with institutional visions and aspirations. It also provides methods to manage change and deal with variables and crises with high flexibility, while placing citizens at the center. Participants will also be able to strengthen trust within institutional work and institutional services to reflect a quality image of the public sector.
  • Teams: This module provides participants with advanced methodologies for empowering and trusting a second line of leaders through effective succession planning skills, linking succession planning with talent development, and identifying the challenges of empowering employees and investing in current and future leadership capabilities. It also introduces participants to the OKR system, its importance in achieving effective institutional results, and best practices and lessons learned from adopting it. Participants will be provided with tools to define objectives and key results, track progress, and update objectives based on changes and developments.
  • Institution: This module provides participants with advanced concepts and methodologies in public policy and its importance in the public sector work system. It also provides tools and methods that enable participants to develop policies that contribute to change-making and decision-making.
  • Communication and Influence: This module provides participants with advanced methodologies and knowledge in measuring global performance indicators, the types of global reports that show Bahrain's performance globally, the impact of these indicators on the general situation, and their connection to institutional strategic plans. It also provides tools for analyzing indicator performance and its impact on institutional work, contributing to a level of competitiveness among public sector institutions locally and globally and highlighting Bahrain's efforts internationally. The module also introduces methods, methodologies, and mechanisms used in public policy analysis, areas of benefit, and modern models and applications that help participants understand, formulate, and prepare policy aligned with institutional needs and directions.

    This module also aims to achieve alignment across public and private sector institutions by providing participants with advanced skills in dialogue and interaction across different communication channels. It introduces methods and techniques for analyzing the information and messages contained in media discourse and their impact on the institution. Participants will also gain tools to deal professionally with media through official representation, deliver purposeful messages to the public, and develop their ability to reflect the institutional identity in global forums.
